10 Reasons Travelling With Your Bestie is The Best Thing You Can Do!

I don’t know if you’ve ever been travelling with a partner or companion before, but its hard to find someone who you get along with enough to live out of each others pockets for 2, 3, 4 weeks/months!!!

I am a keen solo traveler but when you get your #travelbestie coming along with you, those memories are for life! Here are my top 10 reasons you should consider travelling with your best bud!

1. Never Ending FUN!

So I have been travelling with one of my best girlfriends MULTIPLE times because we just have so much fun!

From those late night chats about everything and anything, to scaring the absolute crap out of each other when your doing stupid things in a foreign country, to trying new things and having a laugh-those memories mean so much when there’s someone to share it with!

2. Personal Photographer

Lets be real here, when you travel to an amazingly beautiful place, you want an amazingly beautiful photo of that place, probably with yourself in it.

And who else can you trust to get that magic shot than your bestie!

OR EVEN BETTER! Get a cute little bestie love photo by one of your new travel-met friends!

3. Towel Grabber

The amount of times I have walked into the shower and forgotten something-usually my towel- and needed someone to rummage through the room to get it, is not even countable! Who better to be that person to go through all your gross travel stuff to find your towel than your bestie?

4. Ultimate Wing Man

Look, not that I have ever utilised this tactic, but friends I speak to rekon that this is THE BEST part about travelling with your best friend.

Imagine: one of the people who know you the best is trying to hook you up with all sorts of exotic interesting dudes (or chicks). Sounds pretty good right?

5. Bed Assistant

The amount of times I have returned to a hotel room drunk and have no idea how to work a sheet/doona and end up sleeping on top of my toothpaste/shampoo/ipad/backpack/in the bathtub-is a little too many times to count!

BUT whenever I go away with my bestie we both stumble back to the room and help each other re-learn how to use a bed. What a nice moment I usually have forgotten about by the morning.

6. Encourager

You know those times.

The times when you’re about to do omething crazy like bungee jumping, going in a helicopter, repelling down waterfalls or you know, just tubing for me…

When your bestie is right there by your side being your own personal cheer squad (and quite likely, you are theirs too!) you will have the GREATEST experience!

PLUS! You may even do things you wouldn’t have done on your own!

7.  Warmth

So I’m a big volcano climber.

And climbing volcanoes for sunrise is bloody freezing.

I know this is a specific one, but when you have someone who willing to give you a little bit of their warmth so you both actually make it to sunrise-that’s pretty special.

8. You know when something’s up

Travelling isn’t always what it is cracked up to be. Sometimes, you just know that some things go wrong and when they do, you’ll have that support and love that you get at home from them right by your side.

(And along with this, you can give them your love and support if needed!).

9. Packing is A LOT easier

I’m a forgeterer.

I forget almost everything.

Pyjama’s and a toothbrush are my main things I forget-and not something that your travel buddy can help out with very easily!

But my point is on the numerous occasions when I have forgotten shampoo (or maybe I just brought two conditioners?) or a hairbrush or deodorant or thongs or whatever-my travel buddy has been right there to pick me up and help me out!

10. They’re real with you

If you’re being stupid, they’ll tell you.

If you’re being an idiot, they’ll tell you.

If you’re looking for an arse-whooping, they’ll deliver on that as well!

Point is, travelling with people you know and love can be trying, but there are so many benefits that outweigh the negatives! I say go for it and embrace the love and support (and maybe only go on a 2-3 week vacation!)

Happy Travels! xx
