Top Travel Moments from 2018 | Kathroundabout

Man, this year has just gone from busy to busier! I have hardly even had time to sit down and enjoy and reflect on the travel experiences I have had over the past year, and now that I come to reflect (like everyone else does on NYE?), I am awed by some of the amazing experiences I have had!

  1. Bagan Temple Ruins (March 2018)
This is by far a highlight of almost all of my travels! It was absolutely beautiful watching the sunrise over the temples in Bagan and experience them with a oddly Indiana-Jones type feel!

2. Jamaica, We Have a Bobsled Team (January, 2018)

The ACTUAL best day of my life! I went to Jamaica, something which 10 year old Kathryn was very, VERY excited about! I had the opportunity in this amazing country to wear a Jamaican bobsled outfit while also riding on a [kind of fake but does it even matter] bobsled through the Jamaican rainforest-DREAM. COME. TRUE!

3. Goats in Trees  (November, 2018)
In my first year of University, in my laboratory classes, my lab partner and I used to watch videos and absolutely kill ourselves laughing at goats climbing trees. When I eventually arrived in Morocco, I was ASTOUNDED that this is the country where Goats climbing trees is a reality and to be honest, probably one of my most exciting moments ever.

4. Northern Lights Sighting (November, 2018)
That’s right! I went all the way to the other side of the globe just to see the sky light up… green, I mean kinda. The faint green line was kind of disappointing in the sky, however my camera picked it up amazingly! Plus there’s something about standing outside in the freezing cold appreciating a natural wonder which, despite it’s disappointing nature, provides its own type of magic.

5. Glacier Walking (November, 2018)
One of the most scariest experiences of my life-like not even kidding, I thought I was going to die! Bu, one of the most amazing and incredible experiences I have ever had whilst travelling. I think the pictures say it all!

Here’s to a fantastic 2018, and hopefully a 2019 full of just as much adventure!
